This collection of 12 duets for Trumpet and Trombone includes arrangements of well-known traditional folk songs from the British Isles, America and Australia. These fun sketches cover all sorts of styles and challenges, from fast articulations, fast scalic passages, to soaring beautiful lines. I wrote the collection after often finding myself having spare time with trombonists so that we could play together, just like I would with another trumpet player during residential courses, tacet pieces and teaching days. Many of the pieces are also suitable to play with students upwards of Grade 5 ability – I especially recommend the melodious legato melodies.
