Composer: Giuseppe Verdi (1813-1901)
Duration: 7.5 minutes
Price: £35
Grade: 6-8+
Instrumentation: 10 Bb Trumpets
(Additional 1st Trumpet Eb and Bb Picc part)
From the four act opera Aida of 1871, this triumphant march movement remains one of the most famous trumpet melodies in the repertoire, during which Radames leads the Egyptian army on its victory over the Ethiopians. This is another arrangement from the series penned for the trumpet ensemble of Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.
The first trumpet part reaches top concert Eb so optional Bb Picc and Eb trumpet parts are provided. The 9th and 10th parts are the solo Aida trumpet parts with the main melody, plus providing more fanfares at the start and end of the piece. This is a great classical style repertoire piece for any trumpet choir.
